She had reached that age as a woman in which it suddenly felt important to organize the contents of her cupboard into little glass jars. So, she bought a dozen and lined them up on the shelf, then filled each one with something she knew was good. But when she was finished – the linseeds, almonds, chia and cacao nibs all in place – one jar remained empty, and it was to this one her eye fell. What was meant to go there? What key, core ingredient had she missed? The kitchen grew still as she contemplated the question, until finally – defiantly - she reached for the jar, and turned back out into the world to see what she still had to find.
